Kingdom Hall Specific Branch for PTZ Camera Control

Kingdom Hall Specific Branch for PTZ Camera Control

Updated!

It was requested that, in addition to the generic version of the Camera Control app, I also provide the Kingdom Hall specific variant of the app. So, here it is: https://github.com/counteragent/KH-Camera-Control/releases. You can download the source or download the app/installer for MacOS or Windows respectively.

The main difference in the two branches of the app are the presets. In the normal version the presets are all just numbered buttons. The Kingdom Hall specific one uses various icons I created to show the general use cases for a meeting at a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

You can still find the standard version of the app on it’s Github page: https://github.com/counteragent/Camera-Control

  1. Hi Jonathan,

I love your app! It works really well! There has been only one issue that I’ve run into and I know that it has more to do with the javascript behind the app that was provided elsewhere. When using the keyboard for PTZ controls, it stutters and gets stuck panning or tilting. Any ideas? I noticed that mousetrap was used to render the keystrokes. Is this something that you’ve noticed? Any workarounds?

    1. Yeah, I think this is a problem with the lag between the camera receiving the commands. It’s something I haven’t been able to resolve and suggest just using the app to setup your presets.

This is also why I made a version of the app without the movement controls, just presets, so people aren’t tempted to move the camera manually.

  2. I cannot get this (Windows version) to install. I’ve tried 2 different computers with the same results. It begins and then ends with an ‘Error opening file for writing.’
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Camera Control\resources\app\dist\osx\Camera Control-darwin-x64\Camera Control.app\Contents\Resources\app\dist\win\Camera Control-win32-ia32\resources\app\dist\osx\Camera Control-darwin-x64\Camera Control.app\Contents\Frameworks\……….
I opened the location and get to the last Contents folder and It appears that it isn’t, or can’t create the Frameworks folder . I’ve stepped through ignoring and It continues for a long time. I never did ignore completely through to the end of installation. I’ve had to abort and cancel the install.
Am I missing something? I tried installing as Administrator as well with the same results.
    Thanks

    1. Not that I know of. It’s designed specifically for the PTZOptics cameras. You may be able to fork the code and change it to support different cameras.

  3. Anyone extend this to a multi camera with OBS doing camera swapping between reposition events? I’m thinking of doing 2-3 cams for a church and would love to integrate everything into an iPad control console style.

  4. Hello, I saw your KH camera control and camera control.
You have done a very good job.
Since we will be installing the new camera in our Kindomhall in the next 2 weeks, I wanted to use your app.
I am a hardware and software specialist but I have very little knowledge of programming.
I’ve tried to customize your master files, but I can’t get the elctron to create the app with a tray.
Can you customize your app for me?
If you would give me an email address, I would be happy to send you a picture of how I would like it to be.
Thanks for your feedback and sorry for my English I speak German and Italian I translated the text with Google
